Small Gardens: Spruce Up Your House

Small gardens are all about using the space you have, and using it well.
Whether it's your front or back garden that's teeny tiny, don't forget to use the walls of your house to create a whole host of gorgeous planting opportunities that will bring your small garden a new dimension.

And, oh, did I see a porch up there
in that small garden of perfection?
More about that on Monday...

In the meantime,
to everyone who's ever had a mother,
have a very wonderful Mothers' Day!

Happy Mother's Day to you too. It's Sunday, isn't it? Mothering Sunday?

I hope you are going to have climbing roses all over in your garden! I can never get enough of them, although I do have my favourites.

Have a great weekend.

That is such a charming photo. My whole yard is made of small areas yet we grow loads of veggies, flowers and now chickens. Right in the heart of the city.

this trellis reminds me of the one we had at the farm I grew up on...so beautiful with the climbing roses!

Hi Sarah!
It's so nice to have met you (finally). First of all I cannot believe that you are having your fifth kidlet... oh my goodness! What lucky children!
Just to give you a bit of background about me - I am a retired Teacher-librarian living with my hubby, Bill (who is still working hard as an anaesthesiologist and loving it!). We live in Calgary Alberta, Canada in a sweet little old two story wooden frame house (101 years old which is considered old here in the wild west of Canada!).
I love modern country and am thrilled to be able to read your thoughts and get to know you.
Enough for now and thanks again for your lovely blog.
Cathy
